What Are Tahoe 4X4 Tire Specifications?

The Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 is a traditional, large sport utility vehicle. The Tahoe was completely redesigned in 2006 and the model remained essentially in the same form through the 2011 model year. The Tahoe 4x4 is available with several different trim levels and packages. The different styles of Tahoe are offered with different tire options.

Base Tahoe Tire

  • The base tire size for the Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 is 265/70R17. This is the only tire offered for the LS trim package and is the base tire for the LT package. The factory Tahoe 4x4 tires have a load rating of 113 and an "S" speed rating. These codes mean the tires have a maximum capacity of 2,535 lbs., and the tires are speed limited to 112 mph. This tire size is approximately 32 inches in diameter and has a tread width of 8.3 inches.

Tahoe Midrange Tire

  • The tire size 265/65R18 is an option on the Tahoe 4x4 LT package and the standard tire size for the Tahoe Hybrid 4x4 and Tahoe LT Z71 4x4. The 112 load index rating means the tire can carry a load of 2,469 lbs. This tire is also "S" speed rated, limited to 112 mph. Tire dimensions are a diameter of 31.6 inches and a tread width of 9.8 inches.

Premium

  • The premium tire package available on the Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 includes 275/50R20 tires on 20 inch rims. These tires available as optional equipment on the Tahoe LT 4x4 and are standard on the Tahoe LTZ 4x4. The factory supplied tires have a load rating of 111, good for a capacity of 2,403 lbs. and the same "S" speed rating as the other Tahoe factory tires. A 275/50R20 tire is 31.8 inches in diameter, and the tread is 10.1 inches wide.
