Truck canopies are useful to protect items stored in truck beds from weather damage or theft. Unfortunately, the canopy can also make it difficult to clean the windows thoroughly, especially the window between the truck bed and the canopy, where there is only about an inch of space. With the proper equipment and cleaning method, however, you can simplify the process and emerge from it with sparkling clean windows.
Fill the bucket with water and add car and truck soap according to the soap's directions. Although you may use regular dish soap in lieu of special vehicle soap, dish soap may damage your truck's paint job. Even if you are only cleaning the windows, the soapy water will run down the length of the vehicle and come into contact with the paint.
Wet one outer window with water from a water hose or pressure washer. Submerge the truck window and cap wash brush into the soapy water. Use the soft mitt side of the brush to scrub the window, then rinse all of the soap away with the water hose. Repeat for each outer window on the canopy. When cleaning the window between the cab and the canopy, the truck window and cap wash brush can fit between the small space to clean. Take extra care to scrub and rinse well because you will not be able to see what you are doing.
Climb inside the bed of your truck with glass cleaner and paper towels. If your canopy windows have tint, use tint-safe glass cleaner because regular glass cleaners contain ammonia which can damage the tint. Spray each inside window with glass cleaner, then wipe away with paper towels until dry. You clean the inside differently from the outside to protect anything stored in the bed of your truck from water damage.
