Bumper stickers leave a sticky, ugly residue behind once you remove the actual sticker. You may not even be able to remove the sticker itself because the glue will not budge. You cannot use the same methods for removing a sticker from a car’s bumper as you can with other surfaces, since you may scratch the car’s paint or damage the finish. Fortunately WD-40 will not damage the paint on modern cars, giving you an edge in removing the glue once and for all.
Heat the bumper sticker glue with a hair dryer. Put the hair dryer on the highest setting and blow the hot air on the glue for about three to four minutes.
Spray down the glue with WD-40 and let it sit for five minutes.
Remove the bumper sticker glue with a plastic scraper. You will have to make several passes with the scraper, making sure to clean off glue residue that has gathered on its edge.
Soak a microfiber cloth with rubbing alcohol. Rub the area where the bumper sticker was with the cloth to remove any leftover glue.
Wash the area where the bumper sticker was applied. Apply a good coat of wax and polish it thoroughly.
