How to Clean the DVD Player in a Honda Odyssey Van

Some years of the Honda Odyssey minivan come with a rear-facing DVD player, so passengers in the back seats could watch videos. Through repeated use, or simple wear and tear, the DVD player and screen can become dirty. Cleaning the Honda's DVD player requires the same steps as cleaning a traditional DVD player, though you may not have as much space to perform the steps as you would in your home.

Things You'll Need

  • DVD lens cleaner
  • 2 soft, dry cloths
  • Electronics cleaner
  • Screen cleaner
  • Press the eject key on the DVD player to remove any movies already inside. Insert the DVD lens cleaner disk. Some disks come with a small brush. If yours has a brush attached, make sure the brush faces down. Press "Play."

  • Listen to the audio instructions on the DVD, which will vary with the brand of lens cleaner you have selected. In general, the disk will instruct you on how long to leave the lens cleaner in the DVD player. Eject the lens cleaner when prompted.

  • Spray a soft cloth with one spray of electronics cleaner and wipe down the face of the DVD player, including the buttons. Wipe down any exposed cords or jacks, as well. Immediately wipe the surfaces dry with a dry corner of the cloth.

  • Spray the second cloth with television screen cleaner and wipe down the rear-facing screens. This will remove any dust or smudges on the screens themselves.
