How to Remove the Back Seat of a 2004 F-150 Ford

Unlike the front seats, a 2004 Ford F150's back seat does not feature electrical components that need to be detached. This makes removing the seat uncomplicated. The seat as a whole is one complete unit, so there is no need to worry about detaching the cushions from the seat back. The rear seat, however, is large, long, and bulky. Once it is detached from the F150's floor, you may need assistance getting it out of the truck.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench
  • Socket set
  • Open either the driver- or passenger-side door. Slide both of the front seats forward. This should give you enough room to work.

  • Locate the retaining bolts at the bottom of the rear seat. These bolts attach the seat to the floor.

  • Remove the bolts with a socket wrench.

  • Lift the rear seat up and forward.

  • Carefully pull the seat out through the one of the F150's doors.
