How to Prevent a Car Radio from Changing Stations

Many newer cars' features are customizable to the owner of the vehicle and can be changed whenever the owner wishes. However, customizing the features, such as the radio stations, might have glitches if changed too many times. To fix these glitches, check your fuses and ensure your customized settings are programmed properly.

  • Open the driver's door. Look at the side area of the dashboard. Locate the panel door.

  • Open the panel door and find the diagram map under the panel door. Locate the "Radio" section. Find the corresponding number and letter for the "Radio" section. Pull the corresponding letter-number combination fuse from the area inside the panel.

  • Look for any burnt marks on the fuse. If the fuse is burnt, take it to an auto store to purchase a replacement. Push the fuse securely back in place. Close the panel door.

  • Program the radio stations to pre-set channels based on the instructions in your vehicle's User's Manual.
