How to Check If My Vin Is Included in a Mitsubishi Recall

Many times car manufacturers will find that there are serious defects in the cars they have sold. They then issue a recall on that specific part that might cause damage or injury on the car or its passengers. The manufacturer will do its best to contact those effected by the recall but cannot always reach all customers. It is important to periodically check your vehicle to see if any recalls have been issued. Mitsubishi offers a service that allows customers to enter VIN numbers and see if any recalls apply to their vehicles.

  • Locate your vehicle's VIN number. It can be located on the front of the dash, inside the driver's side door or under the hood.

  • Locate a service to compare VIN numbers against any recalls for Mitsubishi recalls. These can be found on the manufacturer's website or through a website for local retailers (see Resources).

  • Enter the VIN number and search for any potential recalls. Ensure that any displayed results match your car's make, model and year.

  • Contact your local dealer immediately if any safety recalls have been issued.
