How to Turn off an Acura TL's Service Light

Many models of the Acura TL are equipped with a scheduled maintenance reminder system that tracks driving conditions and engine rotations to determine when regular service is due. When the computer calculates it is time for service, a service light illuminates on the dash. The service light should be reset after the service is completed so the computer can keep an accurate record of when maintenance is needed. If you do the service on the TL yourself, you can also reset the service indicator light.

  • Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition switch to "II/ON."

  • Press the up or down arrow button on the instrument panel until the service light is displayed.

  • Press and hold the "SEL/RESET" button on the instrument panel for about 10 seconds until the confirmation screen comes up.

  • Press the "SEL/RESET" button to confirm the reset. The service light turns off.

  • Let go of the odometer reset button after a few dashes appear in the display then disappear. The service light resets.
