A Dodge Charger, like most modern cars on the road today, is fitted with a cabin air filter. These filters prevent pollen, dust and other airborne particles from entering your cabin while your air conditioner or fresh air vents are in use. Like all filters, eventually it will clog with dust particles and will need to be replaced. Expect to do this routine maintenance every 12,000 to 15,000 miles.
Locate the cabin filter underneath the hood and up against the firewall on the passenger side of the Charger.
Remove the filter cover by using your flat blade screwdriver and prying up the angled cover. Slide it over once it is loose to gain access to the used filter medium.
Pull the filter up and out and discard.
Push a new cabin filter into the slot where the old one came out. It will have a marking on top to let you know which way is up. It will fit in exactly like the old one.
Replace the cover by sliding it back over the top and then snapping it back into place.
