How to Change Windshield Wiper Blades on a 2005 Dodge Caravan

A 2005 Dodge Caravan takes standard wiper blades that will fit onto a J-hook. This hook is located at the end of the wiper arm. There is no need to buy replacement blades at your Dodge dealer. Other brands, like Anco, Pylon, Michelin, Rain-X and Bosch, fit the Caravan and are available at attractive prices at discount stores.

  • Visit the Pylon website (see Resources). They have an online guide for wiperblade sizes. Pylon's guide has the Caravan needing a size 16 rear blade, size 26 passenger side, and size 28 driver side.

  • Visit the retailer of your choice and purchase all three blades.

  • Lift the wiper blades off the glass. Look for a safety tab at the center of the blade and press it. This should release the blade.

  • Slide the old blades off of the J-hooks.

  • Slide a new blade on the wiper arm's J-hook. Listen for a clicking sound, as that means the wiper blade's safety mechanism is engaged and the blade is securely fastened. To be sure, however, pull the blade a little more securely onto the hook.

  • Repeat Step 5 for the remaining blades you need to install.
