How Much Antifreeze for a 2001 Sebring?

The 1970s sucked a lot of the fun out of automobiles, particularly in the convertible market. Convertibles nearly died out, lambasted by Ralph Nader and others as unsafe and impractical. But the convertible Chrysler LeBaron of the 1980s got America asking "Hey -- whose life is this, anyway?" The LeBaron begat the convertible Sebring, which held the title for many years as America's best-selling topless transport.

Capacities

  • The Sebring came with two different engines in the 2001 model year, and both took a standard half-and-half mix of purified water and ethylene glycol antifreeze. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine took 9.5 quarts of coolant mix, and the 2.7-liter V-6 held 10.5 quarts. The engines both held 5 quarts of oil, and the transmission held 4 quarts. Technically, the transmission held 9.2 quarts including the torque converter, but you'd use the 4 quart figure for a transmission fluid change and refill.
