A Chevy Blazer is a compact, sports utility vehicle (SUV) with room for a family and also can also take rough, outdoor conditions. In the early to middle 1990s, the Chevy Blazer had three recalls for their fuel gauges and the inaccurate readings they provided.
In 1991, the fuel tank was incorrectly seated, allowing fuel to spill out of the tank if a rollover occurred, as well as allowing air to infiltrate the tank causing erratic fuel gauge readings. In 1995 and 1996, the Blazer had another issue of fuel leakage due to improper shielding of the fuel tank, also affecting fuel gauge readings.
According to "Motortrend," after the warrantied repairs were fixed on the Chevy Blazer, the fuel gauge problems were resolved. In the end, the vehicle tested well with Blazer enthusiasts.
