If you are interested in purchasing a keyless remote you should first determine whether your Taurus came equipped with a keyless entry system. You can do this using the process for programming a keyless remote.
Insert the key in the ignition and turn the key clockwise two clicks to the "Run" position. This is as far as the key will turn without starting the engine.
Turn the key back to the "Off" position.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 another seven times, leaving the key at the "Run" position on the eighth iteration. You must complete the eight turns in only ten seconds or the Taurus will not enter programming mode. If the doors automatically lock and unlock, then you have entered programming mode, which implies that your Taurus has a remote entry system.
