Ford equipped the 2003 E-250 van with a 4.6-liter V-8 engine, and offered a 5.4-liter V-8 engine as an option. Both engines came with a four-speed automatic transmission. Ford recommends Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil, Ford part No. XO-5W20-QSP, or a similar-quality motor oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-H and bearing an American Petroleum Certification mark for gasoline engines.
Change the filter when you do an oil change. Use Motorcraft part No. FL-820-S or equivalent filter and refill the crankcase with 6 quarts of oil. Under normal service conditions, replace the oil and filter every six months or 5,000 miles. Under severe service, replace the oil and filter every three months, 3,000 miles or 200 hours of operation.
