The 1998 Yukon from GMC came with a 5.7-liter V-8 Vortec 5700 gasoline engine and a four-speed automatic transmission. SAE 5W-30 is best for your Yukon, but you can use SAE 10W-30 if the temperatures stay above 0 degrees F. If most of your driving consists of short trips and city driving or if you tow a trailer, change the oil in your Yukon every three months or 3,000 miles. For long trips or highway driving, change the oil every 12 months or 7,500 miles.
