In the 2000 model year, Ford completely redesigned the Taurus, as the automaker abandoned the oval-heavy design of the model's third generation in favor of a more traditional look. Also gone was the SHO model and its 235-horsepower V-8, leaving the Taurus with a pair of V-6 engines that produced 155 and 200 horsepower.
The Taurus's firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6. The cylinder numbers on the rear bank of the engine, starting on the passenger side and moving toward the driver side, are 1-2-3. The cylinder numbers on the front bank of the engine, moving from the passenger side to the driver side, are 6-5-4.
