Add the digits "199" before the last digit. This is the year that the tire was manufactured. For example, if the three digits from Step 1 are "238," the tire was manufactured in 1998.
Use the first two digits from Step 1 to determine the week of the year in which the tire was manufactured. To do this, use an online calendar for the year you calculated in Step 2 and count off the number of weeks specified by the two digits. For example, if the three digits are "238," count off the weeks until you come to the twenty-third week of 1998.
