How to Find Tire Sizes for a Chevy

There are many different models of Chevy vehicles, with minor changes made to those models each year, so there is no such thing as a universal tire size. You can find the size of your Chevy car or truck by using free resources available. Once you find the size, record it and keep it handy to have access to the information when you need it again.

Things You'll Need

  • Owner's manual
  • Open the driver's door and locate the vehicle tire information sticker along the rear door jamb. Occasionally you can find tire information printed on the sticker. The tire size looks similar to "P185/75 R14." In this example, the number "185" represents the width in millimeters of the tire. The "75" is the percentage height/width aspect ration; lower aspect ratio usually signifies performance tires. The "14" is the diameter of the actual wheel expressed in inches. The numbers for your tire may be different but follow this standard format.

  • Locate the tire size in your Chevy owner's manual. You can find tire sizes in the vehicle specifications section of the owner's manual, usually near the end.

  • Find the size of the current tires on your Chevy by locating the tire size on the sidewall.

  • Visit a tire specialty website and input information pertaining to the year, make and model of your vehicle. The website will give you the original equipment's tire size as well as optional and custom tire sizes for your Chevy.
