I was looking at an article titled “1995 Jeep ZJ—Shafted!” and I can’t find the crossmember anywhere. Any links or leads would be great, as well as where the driveshafts came from! I am trying to hit the trails again soon as I bent the crossmember up into the front driveshaft and a 2WD Jeep just won’t do. Plus, I can’t have the wife telling me “I told you it wouldn’t make it over” again! Haha. Thanks for your time.

Bryce, the article you mentioned appeared in our Mar. ’08 issue and can be viewed online at 4wdmag.com. The article featured Tom Wood’s ’95 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ. The crossmember shown is from SXOR Motorsports in Clearfield, Utah; however, I am not certain that the part is still available. You do have additional options, though, as a number of manufacturers offer heavy-duty ZJ crossmembers, including Clayton Off Road (claytonoffroad.com), Rusty’s Off-Road (rustysoffroad.com), and Kevin’s Offroad (kevinsoffroad.com), to name a few. As for driveshafts, look no further than the owner of the Grand Cherokee ZJ featured in the Mar. ’08 article. The vehicle owner is none other than Tom Wood of Tom Wood’s Custom Drive Shafts (4xshaft.com). Tom manufactures some of the finest looking and strongest 4x4 driveshafts on the market.
