Tomcat Performance
We'd all like to be like the NASCAR Sprint Cup teams with virtually unlimited budgets that allow us to buy and race the latest titanium billet gizmos, replacing practically every-thing instead of inspecting them for damage after every race. But unfortunately, most racers don't live in that world.

That's why Carolina Racing Supply started the TomCat Performance lineup of racing parts. TomCat offers racers a high-value line of racing items that are designed to be more-than-capable without breaking the bank.

One of the newest products is the redesigned J-bar for Late Model and Modified dirt racers (and possibly other applications depending on your chassis manufacturer). Called the "Qwik-Adjust," this J-bar can be adjusted on the car without removing it first. All that's required is to loosen the jam nuts, turn the large adjuster until you have the length you need and then lock everything back down.

A recent redesign puts a very tight radius on the turn, which should help clear large-diameter aluminum driveshafts on even the most aggressive setups. Currently, there are three bars available covering the most popular size ranges: 215/8 to 24 inches, 193/4 to 213/4 inches, and 181/2 to 201/2 inches. On all three the tight radius gets you a 41/2-inch drop.

Although there is machined billet aluminum on the market, TomCat chose to fabricate this unit from steel tubing since it can be produced for much less and has excellent durability. The 11/2-inch tubing, however, doesn't weigh significantly more than aluminum units. Overall, at an MSRP of $99.95 this is an excellent unit for racers looking to maximize the performance of every dollar spent.
