New Retro Wheels at SEMA 2013

r1

A growing trend this year at SEMA is new retro looking wheels. Although old school wheels have always been popular companies are now designing new wheels that resemble the days of past. It's a paying respect to the wheel designs that stuck in our minds over the years. Plus it allows us shoppers to not have to deal with finding and restoring relics that weren't even available in the bolt-pattern or sizing we want.

First spotted was the mint green Porsche 964 at the H&R booth. This car was rocking a new Rotiform wheel that look similar to the old Fuchs wheels. The only difference being the originals weren't offered in a three-piece nor in this size and finish.

Next we spotted a Kenmeri Nissan Skyline at the Toyo walkway. On one side it's got the new AME/Fatlace F-Zero1 wheels and on the other side the F-Zero2 wheels. AME has been making wheels out of Japan for decades and now Fatlace has taken inspiration from their old designs to create new ones.

Lastly we have the M Techinca Turbo wheels. These look a lot like old BBS mesh fan covers seen on old race cars. Also similar to an old Enkei dish wheel. We liked these so much we out it on our Sonic.

New retro style wheels might not be for every car. But certainly is refreshing to see something different.
