Last year at SEMA there was a ton of buzz going around with the Rocket Bunny body kit for the New Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ. This year TRA Kyoto redesigned the widebody for a Version Two of the Rocket Bunny kit that also showed up here this year. But right now I wanted to shed some light on another widebody kit that just recently came out for the FR-S/BRZ, the new Varis widebody kit.
Varis has been making body kits in Japan just as long as anyone. And although their kits look badass they are actually made for racing purposes. You can really tell from the vent work behind the wheels that resemble both the Subaru and Toyota GT300 cars. And after talking to owners of the new kit, these pieces bolted up like butter. No problems with fitment at all.
Shockingly there was only three of these kits at the show, whereas last year there were tons of Rocket Bunny cars including our green monster. One FR-S was built by none other than Bulletproof Automotive as they have a pretty good relationship with Varis Japan. Second was a LFA-colored yellow BRZ from RavSpec in New York. And lastly is a blue BRZ built by Seibon in SoCal.
