2007 Chevy Silverado Ektensive Metalworks Kit Upgrade
The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado brought with it a new challenge for customizers. Instead of the traditional upper/lower control arm combo with a spring mounted in a pocket on the frame, there is a coilover strut assembly. Although that works great for a stock truck, and there are several successful lowering kits for these trucks, it's not ideal for an airbag setup. To make the front suspension work properly and to fix the typical negative camber problems found on these trucks, you really have to think outside the box.
So that's what the legendary Ekstensive Metalworks, from Houston, Texas, did. They've been 'bagging Chevys for a long time now, and decided they needed to build a kit that would fix the whole strut problem, as well as the excessive negative camber present when you 'bag the truck using the factory upper control arm locations. This kit will lay out a 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado on up to 28-inch wheels. We picked up a truck that was already traditionally 'bagged, but needed some work to make it daily drivable. Our partner on this project was Mouse's Kustom Fab, in Phoenix, Arizona, and they walked us through the process of taking this truck from beat to badass in just a few hours.
