Skyjacker 4-Inch Lift Kit - Standing Proud

Have you ever gone to the chiropractor and walked out feeling like a new person? If so, you'll understand the feeling you get when driving a lifted truck-having everything in the right place, holding your head up high, and walking tall. It's just a great feeling. When we decided to lift an '04 Ford F-250 crew-cab, shortbed, 4WD truck, our first call was to the good people over at Skyjacker. The company sent us its most popular Super Duty lift kit (a 4-inch kit with steering stabilizers). We then called our friends over at Mike's Off Road and asked them to walk us through the installation and give our readers some insight.   |   Before When we arrived, Ben Lawrence was happy to discuss this particular lift with us. He said it would probably be easier to install the kit at home if the front bumper were removed first to have better access to the front of the springs and the oil-cooler bracket bolts. He also said this kit takes a professional four to six hours to install, and someone at home could expect it to take a couple of days. This kit is pretty close to a direct bolt-in and can be installed at home, unlike some other kits that require welding and minor fabrication work.   |   After After the kit was installed and the truck was back on the ground, it was apparent how much of a difference 4 inches make. When we started, the front end measured 38 1/2 inches and the rear was 40 1/2 inches. The truck now sits at 44 inches front and rear. That's almost 6 inches in the front and 4 in the rear. What a difference! With this lift kit, we're also capable of fitting 35-inch tires, which would add another 2 inches to the truck's height. No wonder this is one of Skyjacker's most popular kits.
