Vortech V-10 System With V-2 SQ Supercharger - Add Power to Your Ford V-10

The woes of owning a large pickup truck include always wanting more horsepower. But owners of the Ford F-250 and 350 pickups don’t want the power to blow away Camaros and Porsches; they need towing power that can get them to the river quicker and easier than anyone else, and pull their boats and trailers with ease.

One of the latest supercharger innovations for the large Ford trucks equipped with the V-10 is a quiet system available from Vortech. Vortech’s V-2 SQ system produces substantial horsepower gains that have been dyno-tested to show a 100hp improvement and 80 lb-ft of extra torque. Although Vortech’s superchargers aren’t extremely noisy to begin with—the extra whine of the gears is desirable to some—the SQ uses a helical-cut gear design to reduce the overall noise while maintaining its full power potential. Advanced O-ring sealing also helps reduce the friction of the V-2 design, making it a more efficient supercharger for this application.

The V-10 system is also available with an optional aftercooler that decreases air inlet temperatures to increase horsepower. Vortech’s testing has shown that the addition of the aftercooler to its V-10 system has delivered an extra 48 hp. The supercharger system itself is simple to install and can be done by a novice enthusiast with a good set of tools. As an example of how the system goes together, we looked on as one was installed on a crew cab F-250 that will be used to tow a race car.
