AMP Research Power Step Install - Steppin On Up

AMP Research makes entering and exiting vertically enhanced vehicles effortless. As the vehicle's door is opened, the AMP Research Power Step running board automatically deploys in a down-and-out swinging motion, making your step-up entry and exit natural. When the door is closed the Power Step automatically retracts, tucking itself up and under the vehicle's rocker panel. This computer-designed "motion path" is the key to reaching the optimum step height after full extension in 1.3 seconds. power Side Step Install kit Layout   |   The AMP Research Power Step System consists of (2) front mount linkages, (2) running boards, (2) rear motorized mount linkages, wire, connectors, (4) mounting brackets, and hardware. The previous step system was a string tied to a bolt tethered to a five-gallon bucket. After placing the bucket on the ground below the open door, the bolt's placed up onto the floorboard. Gingerly step up onto the bucket and into the seat. After being seated, the bucket is retrieved hand-over-hand, pulling the bucket up into the H2. The exiting procedure is performed in reverse.
After installing a 12-inch lift and 40-inch tall tires to this '04 H2 Hummer, its ride height was increased to 38 inches from ground to floorboard, making it a challenge for anyone to get in and out. The increased ride height makes it a perfect candidate for the AMP Research Power Step system. We followed along with camera in hand as Ray Pifarski, AMP Research's design engineer/installation technician, installed the Power Step running board system to the '04 H2 Hummer.
