Dear Mike,
I just bought a new Tacoma Double Cab pickup and I'm looking for a cap that's a bit sportier than the normal ones I see every day. Who makes a cool-looking cap for my truck? Thanks in advance.
John B.
Redlands, California I'm not exactly sure what you mean by normal, but Snugtop builds a pretty cool cap for Tacomas. The XTR has a built-in roof rack to carry your bikes, snowboards, and other toys, and the side windows pop out. Give the company a call at (562) 432-5454 or visit its Web site www.snugtop.com for more information. letters To The Editor June 2003 custom Truck   |   letters To The Editor June 2003 custom Truck Ridin' Around?
Dear MT,
Hey guys, how is it goin'? I wanted to know how to get my truck in yall's Ridin' Around section?
Jeffrey S.
Tulsa PS - You guys ought to think about making a Mini Truckin' calendar! Keep on truckin'. Things are going good, Jeffrey. The easiest way to get your truck in the Ridin' Around section of MT is to take a good, in-focus picture of your truck and send it to us. Make sure the whole truck is in the picture, and don't cut off the front or back of it. Try to make it look like the picture of the Tacoma shown on this page. Be sure the truck is parked in an area where there are no telephone poles or fence posts sticking up behind it and that the sun is directly behind you when you take the picture. Then send the photo, along with a complete description of your truck, to mini.truckin@sorc.com She Said Topless!
Dear MT Staff,
I've been a dedicated subscriber since I bought my '99 S-10 off the showroom floor. I want to go topless with my truck and want your advice on what kit is the best. If I go topless, will I have to change my seats? They are the original seats because I haven't done any interior mods yet. Thanks a lot, guys, and I can't wait to see what is in next month's issue.
Elva H.
Fresno, California
PS - To all you guys out there thinking this is a guy thing, this girl is not gonna get intimidated by you baggin' on me cuz I bag back now! Thanks for being such a dedicated mini-trucker, Elva! If you want to go topless, we support you. And, if you want to make your truck topless, then we support that as well. Give Street Beat Customs a call at (800) 420-5060. The company has a really nice convertible kit for S-Dimes. Also, Aim Industries, (800) 862-8789), still makes its Ratical Tops line of convertible kits. Either one can give you the topless look you're after. letters To The Editor June 2003 totaled Truck   |   letters To The Editor June 2003 totaled Truck Unhappy New Year's
Dear Mini Truckin',
First I would like to say keep up the good work putting out the best mag ever introduced to mankind (and women, too). Anyway, I wrote this letter because I have a story to tell. On New Year's Eve, I got off work early and came home. My mother is staying with me and my fiancee, so she was going to watch the kiddos for us. The fridge was pretty scarce, so I left for the grocery store to get some grub. As I left the store parking lot, I cut through town to head for a party that was about to erupt. Before I even got halfway there, some jackass pulls out in traffic and broadsides my truck in the passenger side, which sends my mini across the road and head-on into a tree. The hole in the windshield is from my head. I survived, but my mini did not. I always had a dream that one day my mini would make it into the mag, so I sent in this lovely photo. Maybe now it will get into the pages; it's just too bad it had to be this way. Thanks for a great mag and the motivation it brings. I will start another project soon. Oh yeah, the Desert Dragger is badass!
Aaron P.
Mooresville, Indiana Aaron, we are truly sorry your mini was cut down in its prime. Glad to hear that you are OK, though. That is the most important part. The truck can be rebuilt or replaced. You, on the other hand, cannot. Keep your head up, bro!
