Product Spotlight: Snap-on Truck Boxes

Snap-on is well-known for their hand and mechanics tools but is looking to make a big splash with its new pickup truck toolboxes too. The heavy-duty boxes are designed to fit most six- and eight-foot-long truck beds, which should account for most trucks on the market. Two volumes -- 8.4 and 12.8 cubic feet -- are available in either a black or clearcoat finish on the Brite-Tread aluminum diamond plating. The recessed hinge rides on gas shocks for smooth opening and closing while a high-quality gap seal prevents the elements from getting into the contents. Inside, a V-pan stiffener is fitted to the box lid to improve rigidity and a plastic tool tray holds (you guessed it) tools. Both Snap-on truck boxes come with a limited lifetime warranty and will go on sale in early 2011.
