Auto Insurance Claims: auto accident, auto accident

Question
My 17 yr old daughter was injured as a passenger in a one car accident in Tn.  She received injuries which will leave her with health problems (jaw broken in the joint) and scars (on face and neck)from now on, as well as other more minor soft tissue injuries and one other broken bone in her hand.  The vehicle she was in was only covered by liability insurance and had $50,000 per person for injuries.  Does that mean that $50,000 is the absolute most amount that she could be compensated for her medical bills, pain and suffering, lasting effects of injuries, etc?

Answer
Hello Danielle,

Nope. That's only what that insurance company will cover. The person who caused the accident will have to pay for the accident. The policy of the car she was in may have coverage also, and if the driver was liable at all, it's possible that there may be more coverage there. There may even be coverage on your own insurance policy (if she is a resident of your household).

You really want to talk to an attorney. There maybe more money there than you think.
