Auto Insurance Claims: Uninsured Motorist Property Damage, snowy weather, uninsured motorist property damage

Question
On 01-09-11 I was involved in a accident during snowy weather. I slid off into a ditch while trying to avoid a accident ahead of me. The car had no damage from that. About 10 mins later a small truck lost control on the same highway and slammed into us which caused a lot of body damage to the right side. His insr said that if they did claim any liability it would probably be only 50% because they don't see where the other driver was at fault and then reason for the accident was due to the road conditions. My question is would my UMPD coverage with my insr co pay for the other half or anything at all?

Answer
Hi Jennifer,

There is more to this than a simple answer can provide.

You should file the claim with your insurace company. Let them handle all of the repairs to your car. They will then go after the other insurance company and work out a nehgotiated settlement. This is the best way to handle this type of claim.

I hope this helps
