Auto Insurance Claims: new agent needed, shelter insurance, waiting days

hi..maybe you can help. i have shelter insurance for home and two cars. its a good company but the agent i have is lazy and hard to get in touch with. this has been going on for a few years. now the premium is due for the car soon, so i asked this lazy agent to add uninsured and underinsured motorist to two cars. a few days later the bill got here, and it says the uninsured and underinsured was not selected. so...how do i find an agent who actually can be gotten ahold of without waiting days for an answer, and who does what you ask them to do, in particular when more money is to be made??  thank you!!   p.s. yes, the home office is now aware of the lazy one; wonder what they will think of that? thank you again!

Hi James,

You should call customer service at Shelter's home office. Tell them to provide you with a list of other agents in your area that represent them. If they give you a hard time tell them that you will go to another insurance company. Also ask for the procedure for a reassignment of agent. There will be a form you will need to sign specifically requesting a change of agent.
