Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Accident, brevard county florida, crack cocaine

Question
My husband was in an accident where he was hit by another car. The occupants of the other car bailed out and ran. The police said that mu husband was not responsible in any way for the accident. In the other car the police found a large quantity of crack cocaine. The police questioned the owner of the vehicle after the accident and she told them she had loaned the car to someone. The insurance adjuster is now saying the car was stolen so the owner has no responsibility. My question is that since the driver had access to the keys does that make a difference and is there any recourse to hold the owner responsible? We live in Brevard County Florida.

Answer
If you have your own insurance, turn it in to them and let them collect your deductible back. And since you were not at fault, your premiums should not go up. If you don't have your own collision coverage, then you have to sue the other driver if the adjuster does not agree with you.
