You did not mention the type of car, the insurance carrier or location.

As for your answer-- you pay the deductible. The insurance would pay actual cash value not what you owe. If you have additional gap coverage, that covered the difference from what you owe.

There is a caveat here. If the ins denies the claim because it has an anti theft system, you need me.
