QuestionI was backed into in a grocery store parking lot. The guy told the police that he was at fault and it states that on the police report.I hurt my back and re injured my right ankle in which i had surgery on about 10 years ago.I have been in therapy for about a month now. My back is a little bit better but my ankle is still swollen. My lawyer said that farm bureau has offered me about two thousand $. I think that is bull. How much should i received or at least ask for.

Most injuries that are not severe settle for about 2 to 2.5 times the amount of the needed medical costs. If you had therapy on an injury where it is not customary, they can argue that portion was not needed and refuse to pay. Most of the time, if they refuse to honor medical bills from an actual doctor, then they have to have a "peer" doctor say that the treatment/cost was not medically necessary.
Also, consider that if you are a jogger, your ankle injury would cause you more disruption than if you are a computer programmer or retired. That's just an example, but I hope it makes sense.
