Auto Insurance Claims: Medical information release, emergency room services, ambulance transport

Question
I received a medical information release form from the other party's carrier.  Hopefully, my injuries are not permanent and medical expenses, including ambulance transport, emergency room services and chiropractor charges might reach $4000. That carrier has been difficult to deal with.  They denied rental car coverage with a police report in hand that clearly states their client's fault.  They called with a totaled value appraisal and while specifically stating that this was not an 'offer amount' informed me that storage charges would stop in 3 days.  That person's supervisor reiterated that the amount quoted was not an offer and suggested that I file a claim with my own carrier as fault had not been determined (after a week of having the police report in hand).

Should I sign the medical information release form?  What other advice could provide to speed settlement.

Answer
Hi Tom,

Considering the difficult time you have already had you should speak with an attorney. They are just trying to force you to accept less. You should verify that the offer they made you on the car is fair. Make them put everything in writing so you can be sure of what you are agreeing to. It sounds like this company is only interested in getting you to go away with as little as possible. You need to stand up to them. Locate an attorney.

I hope this helps
