Auto Insurance Claims: how long does it take, original equipment manufacturer, 10k hi

Question
to get the at fault party"allstate" to cut a check for auto property damage?
how long should the repair take?
rear axle housing damage and minor bed/body damage total $10k

Answer
Hi Nate,
Part of the job of the Allstate adjuster is to inspect your damage and then review the estimates on a line-by-line basis to be sure that the price quoted in the estimate for the parts are exactly the amount shown in the parts manual and the labor time is in line with what's allowed in the 'flat rate' labor manual that they and the shop have agreed to abide by, plus make adjustments when there are over lapping times for areas.
Once this has been accomplished, the adjustor should be able to immediately issue a check.
Depending on the year, make and model of your vehicle, the estimates may include used sheetmetal parts and/or new sheetmetal from a manufacturer that is not the original equipment manufacturer.
This is usually acceptable.  If your vehicle is still under warranty, do not allow them to use non original manufacturer parts for your rear axel housing damage (or any other mechanical parts) as this will void your warranty.

You will need to discuss the length of time necessary for repairs with the shop.  It all depends on their backlog of jobs and if there are going to be delays in securing the necessary parts needed.

I hope this information has been of help.
