Auto Insurance Claims: Auto insurance fault dispute, mercury insurance, chargeable event

Question
My auto front core support Is damaged on front end to my 2006 corvette without my knowledge.
Several people have driven car( car wash, valet drivers, auto repair, etc.)
adjuster said an object hit vehicle, therefore it is 100.% my fault.
I don't know what happened, how can they say it is my fault. I have disputed this with mercury insurance.

Answer
Hi Jack,

Unfortunately, this is correct.

Anytime your vehicle is damaged and there is no specific proof that another vehicle was at fault, the claim goes through your Collision Coverage. Since there is noone else to go after for reimbursement, this is considered to a chargeable event. In order for this to not be a chargeable event, there would have to be another at-fault party, a witness who would provide a statement indicating that they saw the collision and the other person was at fault, etc..

Assigning "Fault" may not be the correct word to use. But, it is a chargeable event anyway.

I hope this helps
