Auto Insurance Claims: no damage accident, independent medical examiner, desk sergeant

Question
Hi, thank you for your time. My boyfriend was driving my car when the car 2 cars ahead of him slammed on it's brakes. The car directly in front of him hit the first car, and he hit the second. There was no damage whatsoever. The driver of the car that he hit told him that they should not exchange information b/c he is not covered on the insurance. Why he listened is beyond me. The police were not called. No information was exchanged. Later that day, my boyfriend went to the precinct to ask questions. The desk sergeant said that since there is no damage, then no, they would not file a police report. That was 7 days ago. Today, I received a message from the other party's insurance agency asking for a statement and telling me that a police report was filed. What should I do next?

I know that it's his fault despite the immediate stop from the first car, causing a chain reaction. But there isn't any damage?

What should I tell the other party's insurance company?

Answer
Hi Susan,
you need to make an immediate report to your own insurance company.  They will also need a statement from the driver of your car.

Even though there was no damage, it appears that the other driver has decided that he is 'injured' and intends to file a claim on that basis, which sounds like it is completely fraudlent.  Your insurance will want to contact him immediately before he can run up a lot of medical bills.
They will have him examined by an Independent Medical Examiner who will evaluate his supposed injuries and will be willing to testify in court if he finds nothing wrong.
I trust this has been of help, please weite again if I can be of more assistance.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
