Auto Insurance Claims: Auto diminished value, auto diminished value, subaru outback

Question
My 2004 Subaru Outback was hit from the rear resulting in a
repair bill of approx. $8,000.  The other driver's insurance co accepted responsibility.  The accident took place in Warren, R. I.  My car has been repaired but am I correct to assume that I am entitled to diminished value after the accident.  By the way, I live in Ct and my car is registered in Ct.
Thank you,

Answer
Hi Richard,

Yes. You are entitled to be compensated for diminished value. If you were not at fault for the accident you can make a claim for diminisihed value in all 50 states.

It will require that you hire an independent vehicle appraiser to inspect your vehicle, review the repair documentation and write an appraisal report that will indicate an appropriate amount of diminshed value.

I hope this helps
