Auto Insurance Claims: Other driver claiming Im at fault.., waiting my turn, sitting on the curb

Question
Hello!
About 3 years ago, I was in a collision in a housing development. I was at a 3 way intersection at a complete stop, waiting my turn to make a left. The other driver approached from the opposite direction (I saw her car the whole time), and was playing with the radio (I could see her face), she didn't see my until the last minute, and wrenched her car to the right to avoid hitting me head on since she was driving in the middle of the street. Her whole car was destroyed (windshield cracked, airbags deployed), and my driver's side headlight and wheel well is destroyed from her hitting that part of the car. After the accident, my foot was wedged under the pedals, and I had to wait for the paramedics to arrive to unhook me. The other girl got out of her car and was sitting on the curb, quite un-injured...now she is suing me for negligence, accusing me of turning in front of her. This is clearly bogus, and the pictures of my car prove it. She should have hit my passenger side if I was making a left in front of her!

My question is: Can the insurance companies look at the damage to each car and tell which car hit the other, and all of the details surrounding it. Do they have experts that work in this field, or will I be at the mercy of a desk clerk "guessing" what happened?

Answer
Hi Mo,
Read your question.
You say this happened almost 3 YEARS ago.
Do you mean 3 days?
If it was three days ago, then get down to your insurance and make a report.  Yes, they can inspect both cars and determine what happened.  If the paramedics came, the police must have also and they would have made a report.
Good luck.
