Auto Insurance Claims: Parked car, no insurance, hit, insurance company, windshield

Question
My car was hit by another vehicle while parked outside my apartment. I do not have insurance for my car at the moment as it is not being driven. When I arrived home there was a note on my windshield with the guys name and a phone number to call. Will his insurance cover the damages to my car even though I don't have insurance for my car?

Answer
Hi Joycelyn,

The fact that you do not have insurance does not matter. The other driver was at fault so he or his insurance company need to pay for the damage.

You should call him to get his insurance info then call them to file the claim.

I hope this helps
