Auto Insurance Claims: am i getting the run around, texas dmv, insurance papers

i had two parked vehicles that was hit parked in front of my home that belonged to me .the person that hit them had insurance, it happen to be the same name insurance company i have had for two years since moving to nc.the adjuster went out and ended up totaling the two.its been 30 days ...she ask me for proof of ownership i told her i had that but not my titles because i had moved from tx and and  i was unable to find them ,but i had bill of sales renewal forms insurance papers tags and i am willing to sign an adfidavit  notarized  and she wont meet with me......my question is am i getting the run around? please  what should i do?

Hi Renee,

When a vehicle is totaled, the insurance company will pay you for the value of your cars and they will take the cars and sell the salvage. In order for them to do they they must have you sign the titles over to them before they will pay you any money.

You will need to either find the vehicle titles or you will need to contact the Texas DMV to find out what is required in order to get a duplicate title.
