Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: ac freon leak, e mail address, gallup new mexico

Question
I just replaced the ac compressor and vac the system.  there is a slow leak at the compressor and high pressure line junction at the compressor.  I have replaced the orings with new and gone through the process twice and it still leaks.  Per instructions, it has been torqued to 25 ft lbs.  Any thoughts.  Should I try again?  The hose and the compress or mateing surfaces look ok.  Thanks in advance    Roy

Answer
Roy, I appreciate your feedback but they limit the amount of words for feedback to about 25 words so I never get to read the complete feedback comments.

Technically I retired in 89, But I got bored and with my son's help I still tinker on and off with problem vehicles.

I have even drove out to peoples homes to show them how to do the diagnostics and make the necessary repair(s).

Naturally, Distance required to drive with my equipment to the problem car is limited to 250 miles one way is available if the person is willing to pay the expenses incurred. I have even had people ship their vehicles to me as I live just off of interstate 40 between Albuquerque and Gallup New Mexico.

I do not have a staff of people helping me answer your questions, I do it all by my self, Therefore, Due to being retired and a 12 year old computer on a dial-up connection, I do my best to respond to questions within 3 to 4 hours due to the volume of questions I receive on a daily basis. If you require a faster response you can e-mail me directly at the below e-mail address as I check it more frequently.:

Are you absolutely POSITIVE that you installed the correct size "O" rings ?. A/C "O" rings are NOT the same as ordinary "O" rings, they are made of a different compound due to the extreme temperatures of which they must endure.

Did you coat the "O" rings with refrigerant oil prior to installing them ?.

I acn't think of anything else that could cause this problem But I have seen Slightly larger "O" rings fix this type of leak.

Let me know.
