Auto body repair & detailing: life expentancy of pain, residential paint, journeyman construction

Question
I was renting a townhouse condo that sat empty for almost a year in florida.  The home had many small holes in the walls from hanging item.

my wife is an artist and we also, put some small holes into the walls.

When we were vacating the home, I did some patch work on all the holes that we in the wall.  I used some paint that the last painter used to paint the home.  I am guessing it has not been painted since 2008 when the home was built.

The touch up paint came out a different color and now the real estate agent is telling me that I owe for a total paint job.

I am stating that there is a lifetime expentancy of paint in a rental is 2-3 years and that normal wear and tear includes paint fade.

what i am asking, am i right to state such a case in florida?  other than that issue and a vertical blind, i received glowing reports of the clean carpets and of the whole home.

I need to hear what others think.

thank you in advance for your attention and time

Answer
Hi Thomas!....Unfortunatly this is not my area of expertise...I specialize in the Autobody/Automotive/Mechanical trade....Any advice I would have for you in this area would be strictly from a layman's point of view....As I am sure you know, Automotive paint and Commercial/Residential paint are on opposite ends of the spectrum....My suggestion to you is to contact a local Journeyman Construction/Paint contractor, and see what advice they can give you....Sorry I can not help you out further...Best of luck...Dave
