Auto body repair & detailing: Roof Repair, jeep cherokee sport, jeep cherokee

Question
I bought an 01 jeep cherokee sport a couple years ago, and have recently discovered that there's a lot of Bondo on the roof over the passenger side, and it's starting to chip off and rust underneath. I've talked to a couple of body shops about it and they all suggest that I replace the entire roof, which I can't afford. Is there some alternative way to fix this problem, even a temporary solution?

Answer
It is a good possibility that the car was rolled at one time. If this is the case, you may find
lots of other hidden damage as well.Unless you are really in love with it, I would suggest fixing the roof panel with plastic again and selling.
If you plan on keeping it and the roof is all that is damaged. You can still repair it with
plastic, but make sure it is taken down to bare metal and properly prepped before the plastic
goes on. The reason there's rust. Not a properly prepared surface.
