Auto body repair & detailing: Training, auto body program, insurance adjuster

Hello sir,
  I wanted to get into the auto damage appraiser field and was told I need to be trained and licensed in the auto body field.  I work on cars on the side and wanted to get into this area of the insurance business.  WOuld you possibly suggest going through an auto body program and if so which one woul dbe beneficial in order to try and get a job in the field I mentioned.  Thanks much!

You need to contact insurance companies and express your interest in becoming an adjuster. They can tell you what they are looking for. The only experience you need to become an insurance adjuster (at most companies- like Progressive) is to have actually seen a car up close at some point in your life, and be able to use a computer. My paycheck reflects this fact most days.
