Auto body repair & detailing: Sandstorm damage, toyota solara, paint job

Question
Last weekend I bought a 2003 Toyota Solara from my hometown Toyota
dealer.  The car has 33,000 miles.  I paid $18,000.  The car on the lot was
dirty, and had a few chips and dings by the door.  I noticed this week that I
couldn't get the windshield clean, it was cloudy and that the head lights were
cloudy.  I washed it today and realized that the paint is also not shiny and
feels rough.  I took it back to the dealer this afternoon and they assured me
they would replace the windshield and buff chrome, headlights.  I am worried
that the entire paint job appears affected and am sure they were aware of the
cars condition and didn't divulge it to me.  Do you think this is repairable with
a buff out and new windshield? Thank you.  Pam

Answer
You should never buy a car on a rainy day or one that is not clean, dirt hides a lot of problems, as you have just found out. You may want to hire an attorney if they do not repair your car to your satisfaction. Do not let them talk you into taking the car the way it is. They knew about it when they sold it. I have worked for dealerships, that's an old trick. If they paint the car, have the paint job inspected to make sure it is done right and get a warranty. You have been taken and they may try to get out as cheap as possible. I would try to get my money back, talk to an attorney.
Good Luck
