Auto body repair & detailing: Painting panel, rust spot, gloss

Question
Hi,

I have some rust spot on the panel where the rear wheel is. I am
planning to sand it down and prime + paint it over. The thing is the damaged
area is right beside the rear door panel, so I don't know if I should
paint part of the door panel as well, and how can I blend the paint so
the repair is not noticeable. I will be using rattle can for the base
and coating, and my car is silver.

Thanks for the time,

Answer
Calvin,it would be adviseable to blend the color into the door panel. As you bring the spray can into the door bring it away from the door in a sweeping motion so less paint comes in contact with rhe door. Also remember that spray touchup cans will not have a gloss so you will need to apply some type of clear coat.Take your time doing the prep work and you will get much better results.
