Auto body repair & detailing: Tar removal., strong vapors, soft rag

Question
What works good to remove tar from car paint? Thanks!

Answer
WD-40 is a good solution to remove small spots.Spray a small area at a time and rub with a soft rag.Flip the rag as it gets dirty. For larger areas lacquer thinner works well.Do not apply thinner to fresh paint.Soak a soft rag with the thinner and work on a small area at a time. When the areas are tar free again be sure to apply a fresh coat of wax to the cleaned areas. If you are sensitive to strong vapors Goo-Gone will work too but will take more effort.
