Auto body repair & detailing: electrical problem, fleetwood cadillac, slow reply

Hi. I have a 1989 Fleetwood Cadillac.. when I was Driving my steering wheel started  smoking...now my wipers do not work...I changed the fuse but that didn't work...Question?  How do I take the wheel off so I can repair the damages...
Can you send me a diagram..or send me info, on how to ?

Hello Diane,
Sorry for the slow reply. I never had the wheel off of an '89 Caddy but I would think the horn button either pulls off or there are screws going into it from the backside. You'll need a large socket, 1/2" drive breaker bar and ratchet and a steering wheel puller to get the wheel off once the horn buttons out of the way. The price of the tools may exceed the cost of getting it repaired at your local garage or body shop. I'd check it out before going too far!
